Cable leakage is generally used for too long, the insulation layer is aging due to wind and sun, and the insulation layer is damaged and cracked. Due to long-term use in a humid environment, the insulation performance of the insulating layer will decrease due to moisture, or the leakage caused by the damage of a certain insulating layer, etc.


When it is found that there is a leakage that cannot be closed, the following methods can be used to find the leakage point.

First, prepare tool materials, multimeter, induction tester, buried wire fault tester, electrician's pliers, insulating tape, etc.

1. First of all, find out which wire is leaking (commonly used wires in power cables are divided into yellow, green, red, blue or black, etc.). Use a multimeter, electronic test induction non-contact test electric pen to detect which one is There is a problem with the wire, and mark the missing wire and what color.

2. Remove the power supply from other wires, connect the leakage wire to the live wire of the power supply, and use electric tape to remove the other wires to take safety measures against electric shock.

3. After the single cable is energized, use the induction electric pen to slowly measure backward along the outer skin of the cable. At this time, the electric pen has an electric number display and the alarm light is on. If it reaches a certain section, the electric pen's electric number will increase and the alarm light will be brighter. It is possible that the leakage point is here. You can cut off the protective layer here to check (the power must be disconnected first to ensure safety), or you can use the minimum voltage of the multimeter, wrap the black meter wire in your hand a few times, and use red The test lead moves forward slowly along the cable sheath, and the search method is the same as above.

4. If the cable is buried in the ground, you can use the buried wire tester to check and troubleshoot the buried wire fault detector. Turn on the buried wire fault detector, connect the power supply of the wire according to the instruction manual, and connect the probe along the geographic route. Buried direction, detection, when an alarm is found, or the signal disappears, the accident point is nearby. Generally, the detection fault point is generally within 2m. At this time, the earth can be excavated to check the leakage accident point of the cable.
